English is spoken by approximately 375 million people as their first language. English is probably the third largest language by number of native speakers. However, when combining native and non-native speakers it is probably the most commonly spoken language in the world.
Finland has two official languages; Finnish and Swedish. Finnish is spoken by 92% of the population i Finland. The remainder speak Swedish (5.5%), Sami and other languages.
There are notable Finnish-speaking minorities in Sweden, Norway, Russia, Estonia, Brazil, Canada and the United States.
