English is spoken by approximately 375 million people as their first language. English is probably the third largest language by number of native speakers. However, when combining native and non-native speakers it is probably the most commonly spoken language in the world.
Norwegian is spoken by approximately 5 million people in total. It is the official language of Norway. As established by law and governmental policy, there are two official forms of written Norwegian – Bokmål (literally "book language") and Nynorsk (literally "new Norwegian"). Bokmål is used by 85–90% of the population of Norway. It is small differences between these two versions of the Norwegian language, and hardly all norwegians understand both of them.
